​Position: Hospitality Manager
Location: Collingwood, Ontario

Balmoral Place Retirement Community is seeking an organized and service oriented individual with a strong food service background to complement the management team as the Hospitality Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to ensure each resident of the community receives an exceptional dining service experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for areas including:
  • Ensuring an exceptional dining experience for the residents and guests of the home, overseeing all front of house dining functions;
  • Efficiently serves meals, desserts, tea and coffee to residents during meal service time, and supports dining service team members;
  • Provides immediate customer service recovery where residents are dissatisfied and manages resident complaints;
  • Providing leadership and direction to all servers of the dining services staff, including scheduling and assigning work;
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with residents and their families in order to determine individual needs, resolve issues or concerns, and evaluate resident satisfaction;
  • Participates, where requested, as a working member of the resident food committee meetings;
  • Ensures all Dining staff team are familiar with food handling, storage and infection control measures at beginning of orientation and ongoing thereafter;
  • Interprets and implements applicable food services policies and procedures – acts as an ambassador for best practices to staff;
  • Maintains all stock of café or other area with food and beverages;
  • Assists in monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises manager of problems.
  • Reports food supply and equipment needs to Food Services Manager;
  • Assists in the preparation and service of beverages, breakfast items, nourishment items, salads, desserts and catering;
  • Ensures all applicable staff attend safe food handling courses with Public Health;
  • Organizes and directs staff orientation and in-service training programs;
  • Liaises with Public Health, RHRA and all other industry regulators as required.

Preference will be given to candidates whom have at least two years supervisory experience in a volume food service environment in the healthcare or in the hospitality industry in addition to:
  • Individuals who have successfully completed or are enrolled in a hospitality or health care food services worker training program
